Avoid strenuous exercise, ibuprofen, aspirin or alcohol for 24 hours as this might increase your risk of bruising.

What should I expect immediately after Botox treatments?
Mild bruising can occur, but will typically subside after a few days. You may apply Arnica and ice to the affected area periodically if bruising occurs.

What results can I expect from the Botox treatment?
The client will notice fading of fine lines and wrinkles as well as improvements to overall skin quality. Some clients have expressed relief from TMJ and migraine pain.

When should I come back for my next Botox treatment?
A 2 week follow up is recommended after the product has settled. If any asymmetry is noted or patient has more muscle movement than desired, a complimentary 2 week touch up is recommended. For optimal results, we typically suggest scheduling wrinkle reducer treatments every 3-4 months.

Can you get Botox while pregnant?
No, wrinkle reducers are not recommended when pregnant or breastfeeding.

Does Botox hurt?
Most patients describe Botox as a mild pinching sensation. Pain is mild and minimized with ice and pain distraction techniques. Any redness or swelling at the injection sites typically resolves within a few hours. JECT providers use fine-gauge needles to minimize discomfort.

What is the difference between Botox, Dysport, Daxxify, and Jeuveau?
All four are FDA-approved neuromodulators that relax muscles to reduce wrinkles, but they differ in formulation, onset, and duration. Dysport spreads more naturally and works faster (2–5 days). Daxxify lasts up to 6 months. Jeuveau is a modern Botox alternative. Your JECT provider will recommend the best option for your goals.
